Agost a la fresca

Alcúdia·20:00–22:00

When the sun goes down, Alcúdia takes its summer outdoors. Agost a la fresca is the Ajuntament d'Alcúdia's month-long cultural programme that fills every August night with theatre, cinema, music and tradition in the open air — almost all of it free, and scattered across the squares, the medieval walls and the beach of one of Mallorca's best-preserved historic towns. The centrepiece is the XXXVIII Mostra de Teatre, three late-night plays staged inside the 2,000-year-old Teatre Romà de Pollèntia: Chocolate (13 Aug), El Simposi (21 Aug) and El Covard (28 Aug), each at 22:00. Cinema a la fresca puts films under the stars, dubbed in Catalan — La Màscara at the Porta des Moll gate and Pixar's Soul down at Balneari 6 on the beach — while the Via Fora dramatised guided tours turn the ramparts into living theatre on 90-minute night walks from the Porta des Moll. Tradition comes from Sarau Alcudienc, bringing Mallorcan music, ball de bot and folk dress to the squares (16 & 22 Aug), and the family Festa de ses Llanternes for Sant Bartomeu (24 Aug), with a lantern-making workshop and a children's parade through the old town. Rounding out the month are the town band's street concert, the Nocturns al pati at the Can Torró library and the XXII Cursa Ronda Murada, the night race that opens August on the 1st with a lap around the walls. When: 1–28 August 2026 · Where: Alcúdia old town (Teatre Romà de Pollèntia, Porta des Moll, Biblioteca Can Torró) · Entry: free at almost every event.
