Albano Afonso: A Natureza (Biennal B)
Brazilian artist Albano Afonso (São Paulo, 1964) turns the church of the Convent de Sant Domingo, part of the Museu de Pollença, into an immersive forest with A Natureza, a Biennal B exhibition on view from 5 July to 25 October 2026. The installation invites visitors to experience nature through "full bodily presence": at its heart, a mobile sculpture titled Em Estado de Suspensão rotates with the air currents, using bronze and glass to cast prismatic flashes of light across photographic images of the natural world. Afonso has spent three decades treating light as a sculptural material, making works that dialogue with the baroque still-life tradition through movement and shadow.
