About

The Camí des Correu — the old "postman's path" — is one of Mallorca's most loved gentle walks, an ancient cobbled mule track that links the village of Esporles with the terraced clifftop town of Banyalbufar. Part of the GR-221 dry-stone route, it winds through holm-oak woodland, past dry-stone walls, springs and old charcoal-burners' clearings, before opening onto the vine-and-tomato terraces above the sea at Banyalbufar. It's about 8 km one way (roughly 2.5 hours) with gentle, steady gradients (≈320 m up, 400 m down) and clear waymarking — a true family classic, though the all-stone surface and steps mean it's not for buggies. Start at the parish church of Sant Pere in Esporles (the path is signed on the left of the church). The easiest plan with kids is to walk one way and ride the local bus back, finishing with a swim or an ice cream in pretty Banyalbufar.
