Castell Classics

Castell Classics turns the terraced gardens of Castell Son Claret — a 19th-century castle estate in the hills above Es Capdellà — into an open-air concert hall for one night each summer. Now in its second decade, the series opens with the Salzburg Festival's Young Singers Project, hand-picked by the Austrian festival's own leadership, and past editions have also hosted guest companies such as the Hamburg State Opera. Every evening on the programme is bookended by hospitality as considered as the music: a welcome reception in the gardens ahead of the performance, followed by a gala menu prepared jointly by the estate's two restaurants — the Michelin-starred Sa Clastra and the garden-facing Olivera. The series is presented with the support of the Kühne Foundation, whose backing has also funded a new home for the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra. The 2026 summer edition takes place on 18 June, with Salzburg Festival artists performing as the Tramuntana mountains darken behind the castle.
