Deià International Music Festival
Founded in 1978, the Deià International Music Festival is one of Europe's most important classical music festivals — and one of Mallorca's most beautiful. Its 48th season runs from late May to mid-October 2026 with around fifty concerts: chamber recitals, piano cycles and song programmes performed by soloists from more than twenty countries, set against the Serra de Tramuntana. The festival's signature stage is Son Marroig, the clifftop estate of Archduke Ludwig Salvator above Deià, where the "Sunsets and Music" series times its recitals to the Mediterranean sundown. Other evenings move to the Miró Foundation and Palau March in Palma, the Sa Bassa Rotja estate in Porreres, and Bodegas Santa Catarina in Sencelles, where concerts come paired with the winery's wines. Artistic director Alfredo Oyágüez Montero, who has led the festival since 2000, shapes a programme that ranges from Bach and Chopin to Shostakovich, film scores and new work, closing on 15 October. Tickets are sold per concert.
