About

The loop around the Cúber reservoir is the gentlest way to feel like you're deep in the high Tramuntana — and the single best mountain walk in Mallorca for young families. Sitting at about 750 m between Puig Major and L'Ofre, the lake is ringed by a near-flat path (about 4.5–5 km, 1–1.5 hours) with almost no climbing and uninterrupted views of the island's biggest peaks and, very often, grazing mountain goats and soaring black vultures. Start from the Sa Font des Noguer car park on the Ma-10, where there are picnic tables and benches. The dam side is paved and buggy-passable; the far side is a wide dirt track with a few rocky stretches, so trainers or light boots are best. There's no shade and no café, so bring water, hats and a picnic. It links into the GR-221 dry-stone route if you want to extend toward the Coll de l'Ofre, but the simple lake circuit is the family classic.
