Festes de Sant Domingo — Lloret de Vistalegre
The patronal festa of Lloret de Vistalegre honours Sant Domingo in early August, when this small inland village turns its streets over to music, dancing and colour. Its centrepiece falls on Sunday 2 August: the VIII Trobada de Gegantes, Gegants i Caparrots. The plantada gathers the giants at 18:30 on carrer del Vent, by the blood-donor monument, before the cercavila carries the gegants and caparrots through the streets to dance in Plaça Jaume I. As the evening cools, a Ballada Popular at 21:30 opens the ball de bot with live music from Vitenc and Brocalet — the kind of open folk dance where the whole village joins in. The night before, Saturday 1 August, brings a children's summer carnival — recycled games, circus acts and a carousel — followed by the big "Carnaval d'Estiu" verbena.
