Festes de Sant Joan a Deià
Each June the village of Deià celebrates its patron saint with Festes de Sant Joan, a fortnight of community festivities that in 2026 run from 14 to 28 June. Organised by the Ajuntament de Deià together with local associations and volunteers, the programme weaves the sacred and the social — a solemn Mass and country traditions alongside open-air parties, suppers, sport and family shows. The celebrations open on 18 June with the pregó (opening proclamation) by Damià Heine Suñer and a communal singing of the Himne de Deià, and build towards Sant Joan's day on 24 June, when the Valldemossa music band leads villagers in traditional pagès dress to a solemn Mass in honour of Sant Joan Baptista, followed by refreshments and dancing with Calabruix. In between there's something for everyone: a Gran Revetla with Via 80 and DJs Schetini and Racoon, the 40th village fishing contest at the cove, a Havaneres night with Aires Sollerics, communal Quintades suppers with bingo and the 21st Truc card championship, theatre evenings, workshops, a Circo Stromboli family show and a closing artisan market at Can Vallès. Most events are free and open to all. Where: across Deià — the Amphitheatre, the sports courts, Cala Deià, Can Vallès and Cas Peixot.
