Festes de Sant Mateu 2026

Bunyola town centre

Bunyola, tucked into the Serra de Tramuntana, throws itself each September into the Festes de Sant Mateu — the village's patronal fiesta around the feast day of its patron saint on 21 September. The whole town fills with concerts, recitals, revetlles and traditional ball de bot, alongside the patronal core of the opening pregó, solemn mass and procession, and the homage to the elders. There's Bunyola's own quirk, too — the famous cursa en calçotets, an underwear race through the village — plus sport, theatre, a solidarity market, children's activities and a popular dinner. And the flavours of the Serra run through it all: Bunyola almonds and mountain extra-virgin olive oil. Check the Ajuntament de Bunyola's site for the full day-by-day programme and hours.
