Festes de Santa Margalida — Felanitx
Felanitx
Felanitx celebrates its patron, Santa Margalida, on 20 July, with a town festa whose stars are the Cavallets — seven children who dance through the streets carrying little cardboard horses, to the sound of xeremies, fabiol and tamborí, a tradition documented here for centuries. The eve, around 19 July, brings the cercavila, a parade of Cavallets, dimonis and caparrots from the Casa de Cultura to the town hall, followed by completes, a procession to the font and a late verbena on the Plaça de sa Font de Santa Margalida. Patron day adds the solemn eucharist with the ball de l'oferta and a ballada popular of folk dancing. It's a free street festa, and the full 2026 programme is published closer to the dates.
