The Fira sa Pobla Coenta returns to the town's Plaça Major on **Saturday 12 September 2026*, with coent* — the local word for fiery-hot — as the guest of honour: tastings, a gastronomic showcase and the fair's notorious pepper-eating contest. The headline dare is the Mallorca hot-pepper eating championship, run over rounds of ever-hotter peppers until one brave soul is left standing to take the trophy and a direct pass to the Spanish final in Algemesí.
