Nit de Sant Joan — Palma 2026
The waterfront erupts every June 23rd. Palma's Nit de Sant Joan is the island's most atmospheric community party — a free, all-ages night at Parc de la Mar where bonfires, fire-breathing demons and Mallorcan folk dance give way to a full concert as midnight approaches. Programme: The evening opens at 20:00 with the lighting of the fogueró (bonfire) using the Flama de la Llengua. A children's correfoc with troupes Enfocats, Kinfumfa, Patits Encabritats and Realment Cremats follows at 20:15. At 21:00, the traditional folk group Al-Mayurqa performs ball de bot. The programme continues at 22:00 with the official pregó (opening speech) and a satirical monologue by Mallorcan comedian Santi Liébana — a new feature this year. The main correfoc ignites at 22:30, with fire-breathing dimonis and iconic fire beasts — Drac i Guardians de Sant Jordi, Òliba de la Real and Es Drac de na Coca — flooding the streets with sparks and noise. The night closes with a full concert by Mallorcan band Xanguito from 23:30. Practical info: Free entry, no ticket required. The park is on the waterfront below the city walls — well connected by bus and walkable from the Old Town.
