Nits Culturals de Lloseta
Each summer, Lloseta fills its evenings with the Nits Culturals — a run of free, mostly open-air cultural events staged in the Plaça dels 4 Cantons and around the town, organised by the Obra Cultural Balear (OCB) de Lloseta together with the Ajuntament de Lloseta. The programme mixes live music, acoustic concerts and a communal pa amb oli supper, and its signature night is the Nit de Glosa: glosadores from Mallorca and Menorca improvising sung verse to live musical accompaniment in the square. Glosa is Mallorcan improvised verse — sung or recited and traded back and forth between glosadors — one of the liveliest surviving expressions of the island's popular oral culture. Watching it unfold in the plaça after dark, among neighbours, is a window onto a tradition that barely appears anywhere else. Other nights lean lighter: an acoustic set, or bread-with-oil in the fresh air followed by a band running through cumbia, bolero and cha-cha-cha. This is a recurring summer series — the dates and performers change each year, so treat any listed nights as this season's edition and check the Ajuntament de Lloseta agenda for the current programme.
