Bonfires and festivities on the summer solstice
The Night of San Juan, celebrated on June 23rd, is one of Mallorca's most magical festivals, known as the 'Night of Fire'. Every year, locals and visitors gather on beaches and plazas across the island — especially at Can Pere Antoni beach in Palma — to light bonfires, leap over the flames, and take a midnight swim in the sea. This celebration of pagan and Christian roots combines live music, fire, and purification rituals that mark the summer solstice.
