A free, photogenic slice of living history in the heart of Palma: on the last Saturday of most months, soldiers of the "Palma" nº47 infantry regiment — dressed in the uniforms of the Regiment of Mallorca worn under Charles III at the taking of Menorca in 1782 — perform a ceremonial changing of the honour guard in the square between the Almudaina Royal Palace and the Cathedral. The guard forms at 12:00, the change itself happens at 12:30 and the withdrawal follows around 13:09, the whole thing lasting roughly 40–60 minutes. In June 2026 it falls on Saturday the 27th. Come a little early to find a good viewing spot.
