About

Traditional celebration of Sant Antoni Abat on the night of January 16 in the streets of Alaró. Longaniza and botifarra sausages are grilled over bonfires while the Colla de Dimonis d'Alaró performs the correfoc, a dance of demons with fire, drums, and sparks. Attendees can take part in this ancestral dance and share the grilled meats with local wine. Na Marranxa, a monstrous figure that breathes fire, is the centerpiece of the performance. The children's Dimonis also take part. The night is announced days in advance by the picarolada, when young people walk the streets ringing cowbells.
