Tomagust: Tomato Tapas at the Vineyard
On Sunday 9 August, farm-to-table collective Terragust brings back Tomagust, an evening built entirely around the tomato. Held among the vines at Vinyes Es Bessons, it is a chance to taste your way through the many varieties of Mallorcan tomàtiga in a menu of tapes created specially for the night. Expect five small plates that put the fruit centre stage: salmorejo with confit prawn and trempó; a cherry-tomato and herb focaccia with fresh cheese and marinated tomatoes; pa amb oli with local cured meats and cheeses; a rose-tomato, basil and anchovy bruschetta; and, to finish, panna cotta with tomato jam and mint. It is a relaxed, local celebration of one of the island's summer staples — good wine, long tables and the varieties of tomato that rarely reach a supermarket shelf.
