Total Solar Eclipse from the Sea — Sóller Train, Tram & Boat

Ferrocarril de Sóller & Barcos Azules — Palma to Port de Sóller

On 12 August 2026, right at sunset, Mallorca sits beneath a total solar eclipse — the first visible from Spain since 1905. This package from the Ferrocarril de Sóller and Barcos Azules strings together the island's three most iconic modes of transport on a single ticket: the historic train from Palma, the wooden tram down to the harbour, and finally a boat out to open water off Port de Sóller to watch totality away from the coastal crowds. Departure is at 17:50 from Palma (or Son Sardina); the boat sails from Port de Sóller at around 19:30 for a roughly two-hour cruise with a clear sea horizon, and the group is back around 23:00 — about five hours in all. Price: €220 per person, the same for adults, teenagers, children and residents. Catering and eclipse glasses are not included. Good to know: bring certified eclipse glasses for the partial phases. Cancellation is free up to 30 days before; from 29 to 1 day before you're charged in full.

GOOD TO KNOW

Before you go

Bring certified solar-eclipse glasses — they aren't included, and you need them for the partial phases.
The train leaves Palma/Son Sardina at 17:50 and the boat sails from Port de Sóller at 19:30; the trip returns around 23:00.
Free cancellation up to 30 days before; from 29 to 1 day before you're charged in full. If the boat can't sail due to heavy seas you get a proportional refund — but if it sails and clouds spoil the view, the service still counts as delivered.
