Calvià with Kids: A Family Summer

Five easy, kid-first days out across Calvià — a theme park, beach libraries, open-air cinema, a village fiesta and the weekly market.

By Thril editor3 min read

Calvià is more than beach clubs and big nights. Between Magaluf and the quiet inland villages, the municipality hides a whole summer of days out built for families — some free, all easy. These five are the ones that genuinely work with kids in tow. Start with the obvious crowd-pleaser: A Day at Katmandu Park, the upside-down house and water-play theme park in the heart of Magaluf. Cool the pace right down with the Biblioplatges & Bibliopiscines — Calvià's free pop-up libraries on the beaches and at the municipal pools, deckchair reading for the whole family. When the sun drops, Cine en la Playa puts a film on the sand under the stars. For a taste of the real Mallorca, time your week around Es Capdellà en Festes (15–19 July), the pint-sized inland-village fiesta with foam parties and a fire night. And any week of the summer, the Mercado Tradicional de Calvià-Vila is an easy, free morning of stalls in the old town. Five stops, one municipality, zero stress — a Calvià summer at kid pace.

Every summer the Ajuntament de Calvià takes reading out of the library and down to the water. The **Biblioplatja** parks a mobile library — a "Biblioroulotte" designed by students

Editor's note

Everything here is genuinely built for kids, not just tolerant of them — pack towels for the water days.
