Free Summer Reading for Kids in Mallorca

The island's libraries follow the kids to the beach, the pool and the coolest room in town — free storytelling and workshops all July and August.

School's out and the thermometer's up — but Mallorca's libraries don't close for the summer, they follow the children outdoors. In Calvià, the town's Biblioplatja parks a mobile library right on the sand at Portals Nous every weekday morning and sets up a Bibliopiscina by the Es Capdellà pool, with free storytelling and traditional games for kids on four July mornings. In Palma, the Nou Llevant children's library keeps a full week of cuentacuentos and craft, art and robotics workshops going in a room built just for young readers, out of the midday heat. Two free ways to keep little ones reading through July and August — one for the beach days, one for when the heat sends everyone indoors.

End of list.
