A summer evening of havaneres — the nostalgic, salt-air sea shanties of the Mediterranean — sung right at the water's edge on Palma's Moll de Pescadors, the city's fishing pier. The Coral de l'AVV de Son Dameto, directed by Francesc Bonnín, carries these songs of sea and memory out over the harbour, staged alongside the Sant Pere fishermen's guild whose working pier gives the night its setting. It's a free, open-air concert put on by the Ajuntament de Palma's Gent Gran de Cort area together with the city's federation of older residents — and it has quietly become one of those Palma summer fixtures locals count on. When: An annual summer tradition. The 2025 edition ran on Saturday 12 July at 21:00; the date for the next edition has not yet been announced, so treat it as a recurring seasonal night rather than a fixed date. Where: Moll de Pescadors, in Palma's old port beside the Confraria de Pescadors de Sant Pere — a short walk from La Llotja and the seafront promenade. Good to know: Entry is free with no ticket required. Come at dusk, when the light drops over the water and the choir starts up. The 2025 edition — the event's second — drew hundreds to the pier, roughly doubling the previous year, so the night has grown into a genuine crowd-drawer.
