Sobre la actividad

Annual celebration of Sant Antoni Abat, patron saint of animals, featuring traditional bonfires where locals roast longanizas and botifarres (Catalan sausages) in Alaró's streets on the night of January 16th. The Colla de Dimonis d'Alaró performs their first correfoc of the year—a frenetic fire-dance of devils to drumbeats under cascading sparks, led by Na Marranxa, a fire-breathing monstrous figure. The afternoon features Ses Beneïdes, a blessing of pets at Sant Bartomeu church. The picarolada (cowbell procession) announces the festival days before. The Dimonis also perform at Sant Roc (August 16) and Fira Gremial (late September).
