The Torrent de Coanegra is the canyon to start with if you have never put on a wetsuit and harness. Tucked into the green valley above Santa Maria del Camí, it threads through a string of natural pools, short rappels and slides in a setting that feels remote yet stays gentle throughout. Guided by certified canyoning instructors, it is the friendliest introduction to the sport on the island — enough rope-work and jumps to feel like a real adventure, with nothing that demands prior experience. A typical guided descent runs three to five hours, with rappels up to around 12 metres (some optional) and an easy approach and exit. All technical kit — wetsuit, helmet, harness and ropes — is provided, and operators take children from about age 10, so it works for active families as well as first-timers.
