Torrent de Pareis Gorge Scramble

Adventure & Sport
Sobre la actividad

The Torrent de Pareis is Mallorca's most dramatic walk — a roughly 3.3 km gorge between 200-metre vertical walls that ends at the sea at Sa Calobra. From the Escorca trailhead you drop into the canyon and pick your way through a wild jumble of polished boulders, narrow squeezes and slides down water-worn rock, a route that rewards scrambling and a head for heights far more than pace. Declared a Natural Monument in 2003, it is the kind of place that makes you forget you are on a holiday island. This is an adventurous outing, not a stroll: there is no marked path on the canyon floor, sections require using your hands, and surefootedness is essential. Only attempt it between roughly April and October when the torrent is completely dry — after rain the gorge can flood within minutes and become extremely dangerous. Wear grippy shoes, carry water, and start early. Practical: Free · Seasonal (dry months only, approx. April–October) · No fixed schedule · Begins near the Escorca / Sa Calobra road, ends at Sa Calobra beach.
