Cult small-batch Binissalem cellar championing native Manto Negro

Ca'n Verdura is one of Mallorca's most acclaimed young-gun wineries, founded by oenologist Tomeu Llabrés — who started out in 2012 in a former garage in the heart of Binissalem. Trained in Tarragona and shaped by stints in Priorat under Álvaro Palacios and at Mallorcan houses such as Ánima Negra, he built the cellar around the island's indigenous Manto Negro grape, working old goblet-trained vines his family has farmed in Binissalem for generations. The wines — bottled under DO Binissalem and Vi de la Terra Mallorca, and including the celebrated Supernova range — have made Ca'n Verdura one of the Balearics' most talked-about producers.
