Pioneering organic DO Binissalem cellar in the heart of Santa Maria del Camí

Celler Jaume de Puntiró is a family cellar on the Plaça Nova of Santa Maria del Camí, founded in 1980 by Jaume Calafat i Nadal and now run by his sons Pere and Bernat Calafat i Vich. A pioneer of organic viticulture on the island, it has farmed its vines under certified organic cultivation since 1994 and is considered the oldest fully organic winery in Mallorca, producing wine under the DO Binissalem appellation. Around 40,000 litres a year come off some ten small plots inside the municipality, worked with native Manto Negro, Callet and Moll grapes alongside a few international varieties. The range spans its Original, Artístic and Autor labels plus a playful Divertimento line — young wines, an acclaimed orange wine and the house Vermut de Puntiró. The cellar offers direct sales and tastings of its wines paired with local produce.
