Small family bodega with Mallorca's widest range of hand-crafted wines, tastings by appointment
Vins Miquel Gelabert is a small, revered family winery in the centre of Manacor. Miquel Gelabert and his wife Maria Miquel began making wine from the family vineyards as a hobby in 1985; the quality was such that they served it in their own restaurant before founding the bodega that bears his name. It works with more grape varieties than any other winery in Mallorca — some 36 in all, local and international — to make the island's widest range of hand-crafted wines, around 40,000–45,000 litres a year under the DOP Pla i Llevant de Mallorca, and has taken more than 90 awards in national and international competitions over a decade. At the small in-town bodega you can buy the wines or, by advance booking, taste a selection of six or seven accompanied by home-made local produce and visit the old cellar dating from 1909 where the reds are aged.
