Restored stone-hamlet wine estate at the heart of DO Binissalem

Bodega Biniagual sits within the tiny restored stone hamlet (llogaret) of Biniagual, in the heart of Mallorca's DO Binissalem — a landscape that has grown vines since antiquity. The village, a cluster of 14 historic houses with a chapel, a traditional cellar and a vinoteca, was a wine hamlet until phylloxera wiped out most of Mallorca's vines in the early 20th century; its owner has restored the buildings since 1989 and replanted the vineyards from 1999. Today the estate farms around 34 hectares and some 148,000 vines, and opens for visits, tastings and events by prior arrangement — from a tasting of its wines with bread and local olive oil to a full tour of the hamlet, its history and its regenerative winemaking with tapas.
