Family organic winery of native Mallorcan grapes, with tastings and direct sales
Galmés i Ribot is a family winery in Santa Margalida, in the north-east of Mallorca. After three generations growing table grapes, the Ribot-Galmés family converted the estate to quality winemaking in 1997, and from 2012 has farmed organically under the Balearic organic-agriculture council (CBPAE). Around 14 hectares of vines are planted mostly to indigenous varieties — the winery keeps experimenting with grapes that grew on the island before phylloxera — and its wines are bottled as Vi de la Terra de Mallorca. Now led by third-generation winemaker Cati Ribot, who steered the estate toward natural, sustainable farming, the cellar welcomes visitors for guided vineyard-and-cellar tours and tastings by appointment, and sells its wines direct on site.
