Our reason for being is literature

The Fundació Mallorca Literària is a non-profit body, founded in 1999 and run under the Culture Department of the Consell de Mallorca, dedicated to preserving and championing the island's literary heritage. It cares for three writers' house-museums — Casa Museu Llorenç Villalonga in Binissalem, Casa Museu Pare Ginard in Sant Joan and Casa Blai Bonet in Santanyí — and safeguards the archives and libraries of Mallorcan authors. Its work runs along three lines: literature (writers' museums, readings and narrative), orality (the oral-folklore tradition opened by Rafel Ginard) and literary landscape (routes that let you read Mallorca through its writers). Each summer it takes poetry, music and the spoken word outdoors with its festival La Lluna en Vers.
