Philippe Starck's designer marina on Mallorca's southwest coast
Port Adriano is the Mediterranean's first marina designed by Philippe Starck — a clean, low, two-level structure of concrete columns and slatted-wood roofs tucked beneath the limestone cliffs of El Toro, ten minutes west of Santa Ponsa in Calvià. "It is almost invisible," Starck said of it. "The architecture exists only on the second view." The harbour holds 82 berths for superyachts up to 60–80 metres, but you don't need a boat to spend an afternoon here. A 4,000 m² shopping arcade gathers around 40 boutiques, nautical firms and lifestyle brands, and the waterfront is lined with restaurants and bars — from Coast by East and its Sansibar lounge to the Bruno restaurant and the Eden champagne bar — ranged across price points for a weekday lunch or a special-occasion dinner. There's a small sandy beach beside the marina, a summer calendar of concerts, sunset sessions and tastings, and superyachts to watch over a drink at golden hour.
