The Fira de les Herbes of Selva is one of Mallorca's most atmospheric small-town artisan fairs, set in the medieval hilltop village of Selva in the Raiguer foothills. The fair celebrates Mallorca's deep-rooted herbalism tradition with producers of hierbas mallorquinas, medicinal herb cultivators, natural cosmetics artisans, and organic herb farmers filling the village's stone streets beneath the Gothic church of Sant Llorenç. The setting — village houses draped in bougainvillea with panoramic views toward the Serra de Tramuntana — makes this a top candidate for the most photogenic day-trip from Palma. Free entry; liqueur tastings are a centrepiece attraction. Held on the second Sunday of June, the fair fills the church square with local artists' exhibitions, musical performances, conferences on medicinal herbs, popular dances, and bars serving herb-infused tapas. It's a slow, deeply local cultural day that lets families taste, smell and learn about Mallorca's plant heritage far from coastal crowds, featuring traditional ball de bot and the local Estol de ses Herbes with giants Rosa and Pau.
