DURATION
The Palma Corpus Christi procession is one of the most visually spectacular civic-religious pageants in the Balearic Islands, with a history stretching back to 1370. The star of the event is L'Àguila, a monumental golden eagle figure dating to 1411 and one of only three surviving medieval ceremonial eagles in Europe. The procession departs from the Cathedral of Santa Maria (La Seu) and winds through Palma's historic core, featuring Gegants, Cavallets, municipal and ecclesiastical dignitaries in full regalia, and a solemn monstrance beneath a golden canopy. For visitors, it's an exceptional window into Mallorcan civic identity: completely free, highly photogenic, and rarely overcrowded.
