Visit Museu Sa Bassa Blanca, Alcúdia
Tucked into woodland near the sea above Alcúdia, Museu Sa Bassa Blanca is the home of the Fundació Yannick & Ben Jakober. Its heart is a Moorish-inspired villa designed by the Egyptian architect Hassan Fathy, but the visit reaches well beyond the house: an open-air sculpture park, a rose garden, and the celebrated Nins gallery — a subterranean room of historic child portraits that is the collection the museum is best known for. General admission (€12; reduced €10, under-7s free) takes in the Sculpture Park, Rose Garden, Nins Gallery and the Sokrates space. The Hassan Fathy house (€28) can only be seen on a guided visit booked in advance; the one-hour tours leave at 11:00, 12:30 and 15:30. The museum opens Tuesday to Saturday 10:00–18:00 (in winter, November–February, until 17:30); it is closed Sunday, Monday and public holidays.
